Carolanne MacLean, born and raised in Toronto, Canada is a painter and sculptor. She attended The Ontario College of Art, graduating in 1996 with Honours in Fine Art.
A child of the sixties, she stayed home to raise her three children and is now grandmother to six, painting daily in the back porch of her Beaches home. She supports herself by teaching violin and piano in her neighbourhood.
I seek to give comfort and solace through my work, whether through moody encaustic abstracts, pensive figurative sculptures, quick acrylic city faces or up close floral watercolours. I want to reach the undercurrent of life, where feelings are held.
