Jennifer Mrozek Weiss is an abstract artist whose passion for art blossomed early in life. Her artistic journey began when an art teacher recognized her talent, sparking a lifelong commitment to creating. Jennifer fondly recalls drawing in class, then rushing home to immerse herself in painting on canvas. Throughout her life, her friends and family have been her biggest supporters, constantly encouraging her artistic pursuits.

Jennifer often works on multiple pieces simultaneously, embracing a fluid and dynamic creative process. A self-taught artist, she briefly explored formal art classes but found they stifled her creativity rather than nurtured it. Jennifer firmly believes that her intuition and inner vision are all she needs to create art that speaks to her soul. As she puts it, “Art has always been my escape, lifting me to a higher state of consciousness—a meditative space that frees me from life’s pressures and allows me to celebrate the beauty around me.”

Primarily an acrylic-on-canvas painter, Jennifer’s work is characterized by surreal and abstract elements. Her paintings are rich in unique, often repetitive forms that engage with color, balance, and rhythm, each piece infused with personality. Most of her artwork begins without a clear concept, unfolding organically as her hand follows the impulses of her mind. What begins as a line evolves into bolder shapes, gradually taking on vibrant color and balanced composition.

Jennifer’s art is defined by flowing, energetic forms that feel alive with spirit. Her works are often inspired by preliminary sketches that resonate with her. As a colorist, Jennifer’s canvases are a celebration of color in its full spectrum—from the bold and intense to the quiet and subtle. There is a sense of harmony in her work, a disciplined interplay of color and form that reflects her inner world. For Jennifer, creating is more than just an act of expression; it is a powerful purpose, one that drives her to share her vision with the world.

Color is the heartbeat of my work. It speaks to me, pulsating with power, emotion, and energy in every piece I create. Through vibrant hues, I channel a sense of vitality and movement, transforming my canvases into visual narratives that evoke deep emotional resonance. My paintings are characterized by flowing forms, often intertwined with a spirit that seems to breathe within them. I strive to capture a dynamic sense of life—a celebration of energy and emotion expressed through color and shape.

I am a self-taught artist, and my creative journey has been deeply shaped by both my subconscious and my studies at the Arts Students League in New York City. The guidance of professional artists has opened new avenues for exploration, challenging me to think outside the box and pushing my artistic expression to new heights. My approach to art is spontaneous and intuitive. I do not plan my paintings in advance; instead, I trust my inner vision to guide me. Each piece unfolds as I work, with shapes and lines evolving organically, leading to new discoveries as the process develops.

My artistic influences are diverse and profoundly impactful. I am drawn to the surrealism and life force in Joan Miró’s work, finding a similar sense of familiarity and rhythm in the shapes used by Wassily Kandinsky. Paul Klee’s mastery of color and form resonates deeply with me, inspiring the playful, yet structured elements that appear in my own work. These artists have shaped my creative perspective, encouraging me to explore the intersection of abstraction, form, and color.

Art has always been my therapeutic outlet—an essential part of my life that helps me navigate both turmoil and joy. My most compelling pieces are often created during times of great emotional intensity, whether in moments of distress or overwhelming joy. Through my art, I release internal tension and transform emotion into visual expression, translating the invisible into the visible on canvas. Painting allows me to lose myself in the creative process, reaching a meditative state where I find peace and clarity. This act of creation becomes addictive, as it provides both an escape and a deeper connection to my inner world.

Recent developments in my work involve a new exploration of layering and transparency. I’ve embraced layering shapes and forms, allowing them to overlap and interact in ways that create a sense of depth and dimension. I vary the consistency of the paint, using heavier applications in some areas and lighter, more translucent layers in others, enhancing the complexity and visual texture of my paintings. These new techniques have opened a fresh artistic landscape for me, offering endless possibilities for growth and evolution.

Though I have experimented with oils and pastels, acrylic paint remains my medium of choice. Its quick-drying nature and lack of fumes make it the perfect medium for my spontaneous, ever-evolving process. My work continues to evolve, as I push myself to explore new techniques, deepen my understanding of color and form, and expose my creativity to the world.

Creating art is not just a passion—it is a responsibility I carry. The act of sharing my vision with others fuels my purpose as an artist, driving me to continually evolve and express the depths of my imagination.
